The All-New BMW 3 Series

A New Era for a BMW Icon

For more than 50 years, the BMW 3 Series has been at the heart of the BMW lineup. Now, its eighth generation brings one of the biggest changes yet, introducing Neue Klasse technology, a completely new design and, for the first time, a fully electric BMW 3 Series.
For drivers at BMW Toronto, there will also be more choice. The new generation will launch in Canada with the gasoline-powered BMW 330 xDrive and BMW M350 xDrive alongside the fully electric BMW i3 50 xDrive.

Familiar Proportions. A New Look.

The new 3 Series introduces BMW’s Neue Klasse design language while keeping the proportions that have long defined the sports sedan.

A long wheelbase, short overhangs and a planted stance preserve its unmistakable 3 Series character, while a new interpretation of the BMW kidney grille, horizontal lighting and cleaner surfaces give it a distinctly modern appearance.

Inside, BMW Panoramic iDrive creates an entirely new cockpit. BMW Panoramic Vision places key information across the lower windshield, complemented by a new 17.9-inch Central Display and an available 3D Head-Up Display.

The First Fully Electric BMW 3 Series

The biggest addition to the family is the BMW i3 50 xDrive, the first fully electric BMW 3 Series and a model developed on BMW’s Neue Klasse architecture.

With dual-motor All Wheel Drive, it produces 463 hp and offers an estimated range of up to 750 kilometres. Its 800V architecture also enables DC fast charging at up to 400 kW, adding as much as 335 kilometres of range in just 10 minutes under suitable conditions.

For Toronto drivers considering the move to electric, that means the familiar size and character of the 3 Series with an entirely new way to experience it.

Gasoline Isn’t Going Anywhere

The new generation also continues to offer gasoline power.

The BMW 330 xDrive combines a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with 48V mild hybrid technology, producing 255 hp. Above it sits the new BMW M350 xDrive, with a 3.0-litre inline six producing 437 hp and accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds.

Whether you prefer gasoline or fully electric power, the goal remains the same: preserve the agility, balance and driver-focused character that have defined the 3 Series for generations.
